at the University of Cologne

You can either take a taxi or use public transport. For the latter, detailed information is available at the VRS homepage.
- Expect to pay 30 EUR for the taxi ride. The destination is "Köln-Zollstock, Pohligstraße 1", which is close to the "Südstadion".

Public transport:
- Follow the sign "S-Bahn" and take the train S13, destination Köln-Dom / Hauptbahnhof (Cologne Central Station). Departure times are 6.04, 6.24 and 6.44 every 20 minutes. The one-way fare is 5 EUR; the ticket is valid for all the way to the "Pohlighaus". It can be used within 120 minutes, hence you can interrupt your journey as long as you do not change your travel direction. The train ride from the airport to Cologne Central Station takes about 15 minutes.
- At the central station, get off the train and follow the directions “From Cologne Central Station” (beginning with step 4)
From Cologne Central Station
- After leaving the train, first follow the signs to "Dom/City".
- Next, follow the signs to "U-Bahn" (underground) or "Reisezentrum" (travel information counter). You will arrive in the main entrance hall of the station (with a view on the cathedral).
- Go downstairs to the underground-station (marked by a white "U" on blue ground). Follow the signs "Fahrtrichtung Neumarkt".
- 4. Take one of the trams 16,17,18 or 19. Please don't forget to buy a ticket (category "A", 2,20 EUR). Vending machines are located on the platform and in every tram. This ticket is valid for 90 minutes.
- About 6 minutes and 4 stops later, you will arrive at the "Barbarossaplatz" tram stop.
- Change to the tram 12 (direction: Zollstock/Südfriedhof). A tram departs every 10 minutes.
- After 3 stops, get off the tram at “Pohligstr.” tram stop.
- Just over the road, you find the "Pohlighaus", which is a grey six-floor-high building with blueish windows.
By car
The "Pohlighaus" is easy to find from the beltway around Cologne. However, there are frequent traffic jams both on the beltway and in the city center.
We describe two cases:
- You arrive from the north (using the motorway junction "Köln-Nord")
- You arrive from the west/south (using the motorway junction "Köln-West" or "Köln-Süd")

From the north
- At junction "Köln-Nord", turn into motorway 57, direction Zentrum/City.
- Leave the motorway at exit "Köln-Lindenthal/-Sülz". Be aware! Due to a traffic light right beyond the turn there could be unexpected holdups.
- After leaving the motorway, you are on the "Innere Kanalstraße". Follow this road for about 5 km. The name changes to "Universitätsstraße" then to "Weißhausstraße" and about 500 m later on (at a railway bridge) to "Pohligstraße".
- At the second crossing after the bridge you find the "Pohlighaus" (which is the grey six-floor-high building with the blueish windows).
- The entrance to our car park is right in front of the building.

From the west/south
- In case you get here by motorway 3, turn into motorway 4 at the junction "Dreieck/Kreuz Rath-Heumar", direction Aachen; in case you get here by motorway 1, turn into motorway 4 at the junction "Kreuz Köln-West", direction Olpe/Frankfurt.
- Use exit "Köln-Klettenberg" (No. 11) and follow the signs to "Zentrum/City".
- After leaving the motorway, you are on the "Luxemburger Straße", stay on this road for about 2,7 km, until you arrive at a crossing close to the "Uni-Center", which is a massive 30-floor-high building. At this crossing, follow the signs to "Köln-Zollstock" (i.e., turn right). If you drive past the building of the "ADAC" or the "Arbeitsamt", you have missed the crossing!
- You are now on the "Weißhausstraße". This road changes its name to "Pohligstraße" at a railway bridge.
- At the second crossing after the bridge you find the "Pohlighaus" (which is the grey six-floor-high building with the blueish windows).
- The entrance to our car park is right in front of the building.
